Summary 1:
David Zinczenko’s “Don’t Blame the Eater” claims that child obesity is due largely in part to fast food chains who serve those children. However, others would argue that there are many healthy and easy alternatives to eating. Zinczenko relates many of the children eating from fast food restaurants to having single parents so that they have to eat from fast food chains because they can not afford to go to a nicer restaurant or do not have the patience to. Zinczenko assumes that since fast food restaurants are fast and cheap that the children are not responsible for eating there because they do not know any better. On the other hand, there are grocery stores, café’s, sandwich shops, and many other cheap alternatives to eating healthy.
